Unibet Sportsbook Review 2024: A Reliable Online Betting Platform

Sports betting is one of the oldest forms of gambling. What Ancient Greeks started was later glamorized by the Romans. Fast forward to today, we have access to online sportsbooks. Among the available options, Unibet is one of the most popular and reputable brands out there.

This is my Unibet review. To be precise, it’s a sportsbook review. I have to be diligent because the operator also offers casino games, Poker, and Bingo. In my review, I’ll look into different features of the sportsbook and share my experience with them.

Unibet: A Truly Global Brand

An iGaming brand is as good as its license. I’m a firm believer of security when it comes to online gambling and Unibet is one of my favorite brands out there. Why, you ask?

Well, for starters, it’s licensed to operate in a wide variety of countries. You have the Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Sweden), Central/Western Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, France, the UK, Ireland), Southern Europe (Greece, Italy, Portugal), Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Romania), Baltics (Estonia), Oceania (Australia, New Zealand), and the Americas (Canada).

Of course, for each of these regions, different licenses apply. In Europe, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) license takes precedence. In the UK, it has to be a license from the Gambling Commission.

Overall, Unibet has done a wonderful job of making its platform accessible to a wide audience. In this Unibet review, I’m taking a global approach and I’ll try to cover as many details as I can.

The Promotions Set the Tone

It’s a no-brainer that you’ll look into the bonuses and promotions right after you sign up. As one of the oldest iGaming brands out there (operating since 1997), Unibet has an elaborate promotions library.

Sports Welcome Bonus

As a new sports bettor on Unibet, you get a 200% deposit match bonus up to €100. To be eligible, you must deposit at least €10. Once you get the bonus, you have a month to wager it.

Speaking of wagering, you must wager the bonus 10 times on eligible events. Make sure you only choose events with at least 1.40 odds. While you have the option to wager it on both pre-match and live markets, you can’t combine them in the same bet slip.

As I already mentioned, Unibet offers casino and poker too which means there are welcome bonuses for these components as well. You need to choose which one you want during the registration process. Also, if you have a promo code, you can apply that to the registration form.

Cashback

On your sports betting losses, Unibet offers a generous 5% cashback. You need to opt-in to be eligible for this promotion. It’s a weekly offer where weeks run from Thursday to next Wednesday. Of course, only your real money losses are calculated for this offer. Anything you use from the bonus or free bets will not count.

How to Register an Account at Unibet

I’ve made it clear that to claim any of the offers above, you must create an account first. Follow the steps below to get this basic task done.

  1. On the website or app, choose “Register”.
  2. Once the form opens, choose your country and language from the dropdown menus. Press “Continue”.
  3. This is where you’ll need to choose the welcome offer. You can also skip this step.
  4. Provide your basic details, such as your first name, last name, email address, password, date of birth, and gender. Press “Continue” again.
  5. On the last step, provide your full address, mobile number, and choose the currency.
  6. Agree that you’re at least 18 and you agree to the T&C of the brand.
  7. Press “Join” to complete the registration.

Account Verification

As Unibet is a licensed and regulated operator, it’s required to verify your identity. Without completing the process, you won’t be able to withdraw any money from your account.

Typically, Unibet needs the following documents to perform an identity verification:

  • Government-issued identity document
  • Authorization to use a specific card (copy of credit/debit card)
  • Other facts and information (copy of utility bill to verify residence)

The Sports Library at Unibet

Undoubtedly, the most exciting part of my review. After all, you’re here to explore the betting options, right?

You’d be glad to know that Unibet offers all mainstream sports along with many niche sports. You’ll find the full list under the “Sports” tab on the main menu. Along with the name of the sports, you can also see the number of available bets!

Some of the most popular sports at the time of writing this Unibet review are:

  • American Football
  • Athletics
  • Australian Rules
  • Badminton
  • Baseball
  • Esports
  • Cricket
  • Football
  • Formula 1
  • Gaelic Sports
  • Ice Hockey
  • Netball
  • Lacrosse
  • Rugby League/Rugby Union
  • Snooker

Besides these popular sports, you can bet on unconventional events like politics, TV & Novelty, Bowling, etc.

High-Voltage Competitions

You can’t really bet on a sport, can you? You need a specific match from a specific competition. To make your life easier, Unibet offers a lot of different competitions. For starters, you get to bet on the NFL and NCAAF for American football.

Then there is cricket where you can bet on events like the ICC T20 World Cup, IPL, The Ashes, T20 Blast, etc. The same goes for football (soccer) where you can bet on various domestic leagues in France, Italy, Norway, Finland, and so on.

What I’m trying to say is that pretty much all the major sports tournaments you can think of, Unibet have them lined up for you.

Spectacular Odds

Your sports betting experience is going to be as good as the odds you get. Unibet is a champion when it comes to odds. It employs some of the best analytical minds in iGaming to calculate the odds. They’re competitive, to the point, and keep bettors on edge.

As for the odds format, you can switch between decimal, fractional, and American. It actually depends on what you’re more comfortable with. From what I can tell, the European audience likes decimal odds while the American audience prefers American (moneyline) odds. In the UK and Ireland, fractional is the most popular format.

Live Betting

Of course, what sportsbook review is complete without a discussion of live betting, right? Arguably, it’s the most exciting aspect of online betting. In case you’re not aware, live betting allows you to bet on live markets. Unlike pre-match or fixed-odds betting, you get to benefit from dynamic odds that are calculated based on the status of the match.

On the Unibet website, you’ll find live markets under the “in-play” tab. All the available events will show up on one page to make the navigation easier for you. Also, you get to stream selected events from the “Streaming” tab.

Overall, I really like the live betting section at Unibet Sportsbook. It’s intuitive, functional, and entertains the hell out of bettors.

Unibet Payment Methods

To place bets or claim a bonus, you need money in your account. At Unibet, you get the following methods to deposit funds:

  • Interac
  • PayPal
  • Mastercard
  • Paysafecard
  • Visa
  • Earthport
  • Bank Transfer

It’s a bummer that a bookmaker of Unibet’s caliber doesn’t accept cryptocurrencies. As for the minimum and maximum transaction limits, it varies depending on your account status. Once you create the Unibet account, reach out to the support team to know your exact limits.

Customer Support

To get you out of a jam, Unibet offers 24/7 customer support. You’ll find the help center on the website. Initially, you’ll get to a FAQ section where all the common issues are listed and answered. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, you can scroll down to the “Contact Us” tab.

At the time of writing this Unibet review, you can reach out via live chat or send an email via the contact form. Or, you may send direct emails to info@unibetsupport.com.

Mobile Compatibility

In this day and age, no online entity can survive without proper mobile support. Unibet understands the sentiment and that’s why it offers downloadable apps for both iOS and Android! On the main menu, you’ll find the mobile icon where you’ll find the casino app and the poker app.

Unfortunately, the operator doesn’t offer a sportsbook app just yet. But that doesn’t mean you can’t bet from your phone. You can always use the mobile site on your smartphone or tablet to place bets. The mobile platform is optimized so you don’t have to worry about a sloppy user experience.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a reliable online betting site, Unibet is a great option. It’s licensed, secure, and offers all the amenities you can ask for. The sports selection is amazing and it’s updated throughout the year to keep things fresh.

I also liked the associated features, such as customer support, payment methods, and mobile compatibility. It’s an all-round experience that takes care of your betting needs.
